How We Make It Work
When someone finds your document, the real challenge is two-sided: reaching you securely, and making it worth the finder's while to return it. We solve both.

Everything you need to know about Docu Track — how it works, your privacy, and getting your documents back safely.
When someone finds a lost document (National ID, Passport, Birth Certificate, or other legal document), they report it through our platform without sharing their personal contact details. The system cross-references the reported document fields against its records. If a match is found with an owner who has registered their document, both parties are notified through the anonymous chat — the finder can arrange return, and the owner can verify it's theirs before providing delivery details. No phone numbers or addresses are exchanged until both sides are ready.
Absolutely. We never store raw ID numbers or sensitive personal data. All document details are cryptographically hashed into proof keys — raw data doesn't exist in our database. When a finder reports a document, the owner receives only enough context (location collected, date reported, document type) to make a decision. Your phone number only comes into play during the reward payment step, and even then it doesn't have to be the document owner's number. Finders' information is encrypted before storage, with two-factor authentication (phone + email) ensuring only legitimate reports go through.
Not at all! Docu Track works both ways — you can register a document preemptively (before loss) so the system can alert you the moment it's found, or you can register it after losing it and we'll still cross-reference with any reports that come in. The more people who register their documents proactively, the higher the chance of a match — but the system is designed to work whether you registered yesterday or years ago. Spread the word so the network grows stronger.
Finders who report documents and successfully return them to the owner earn a reward — a real incentive to do the right thing. The reward amount is set by the document owner and is securely processed through a private, anonymous channel. This creates a win-win: the owner gets their document back for a fraction of the cost of replacement, and the finder is compensated for their honesty and effort. Every successful return strengthens the trust in the system.
Reporting a found document is simple. Click "Report a Found Doc" on the homepage, provide the document type and the details you can see (full name, ID number, date of birth, etc. — whatever's visible on the document), along with where you found it. That's it. You don't need to share your phone number upfront. If the system finds a match, you'll be connected through the anonymous chat to arrange the return and receive your reward. Your identity stays protected throughout.
Timing varies depending on whether someone has found and reported your document. If a match exists, you'll be notified immediately through the platform and can coordinate directly via the anonymous chat. Many documents are returned within days. If no match exists yet, your document's details stay in the system, and you'll be alerted the moment a finder reports it. The key is registering your details so the system knows what to look for — the more people on the network, the faster matches happen.
